Shaving is a part of many people’s daily routine, and finding products that give you a smooth, close shave without irritation is often a struggle. 

Many common store brands of shaving creams and aftershaves are formulated with ingredients that can irritate and dry your skin over time, not to mention the impact these ingredients and the packages they come in have on our planet. 

Here are some of our favourite products and ingredients for getting the smoothest shave, naturally!

Shaving Cream vs Shaving Soap:

Some people prefer to use a shaving cream, while others prefer to use a shaving soap. The main purpose of both options is to create a lather that helps to lubricate the skin, resulting in a smoother, less irritating shave. Neither option is necessarily better, it really just depends on personal preferences. 

In a good shaving cream, we like to look for moisturising, natural ingredients such as shea butter, cocoa butter, coconut oil, jojoba oil, and glycerin. These ingredients remove friction from skin and hair so that your razor can glide smoothly and easily.

Our Organic Shaving Cream is formulated with Alpha Hydroxy Acid, or AHA, this provides the added benefit of helping to resurface the skin, prevent fine lines, wrinkles, and brighten any dark spots that may be due to scarring or ingrown hairs. As for shaving soaps, we like to look for similar ingredients that will moisturise the skin and provide a foamy lather. After Shave:

Using a good aftershave can make all the difference!

The purpose of an aftershave cream or spray is to hydrate the skin and tighten the pores, reduce redness and inflammation, and soothe irritation. Ingredients like witch hazel, aloe vera, and essential oils leave the skin feeling soothed and refreshed.

Our Aloe Aftershave is formulated like a facial toner, so it’s easy to spritz on. We use cedarwood, frankincense, and sandalwood essential oils to even out the skin tone and leave behind a light, fresh scent. Available in two sizes and packaged in glass.
