Why Use Essential Oils for Cleaning
Your car needs to be cleaned on a regular basis to keep it looking and smelling great. Because of this, utilizing essential oils is the perfect way to clean it.
You may have heard advice that tells you to look at the ingredients of a product you are about to eat, and if you can’t pronounce one of the ingredients, you shouldn’t eat it. The same goes for cleaning products, too. If you can’t pronounce an ingredient on the label, it should not be your method of cleaning anything you own.
The chemicals in cleaning products are harmful to both people and animals, and that is one of the main reasons why using essential oils to clean your car is a much safer solution.
How To Use Essential Oils In Your Car
There are many ways to use essential oils to clean your car. Since there are many different areas of your car that need to be cleaned, we compiled a list of different recipes and ways to utilize essential oils for these different parts.

We love sharing fast and fun recipes you can make quickly and easily. Not only will your car smell amazing, but it will leave it so much healthier than it will with traditional car cleaning products.
Are you ready to get rid of smudges on the windows? Maybe you have a few bugs stuck on your windshield that the wipers can’t handle. This recipe is sure to help make your windows shine so you can see clearly through them again.
Window Cleaner
Grab a spray bottle and mix these ingredients together.
4 oz vinegar
2-3 drops of Lemon essential oil
Once you swirl them together, you can start spraying the windows and wiping them down with a cloth just like you normally would. If you don’t like the smell of lemon, you can always switch it out for another citrus oil like lime, orange or grapefruit. Enjoy!
Tire Cleaner
Even if the rest of your car is sparkling, it won’t really look clean if the tires are still grungy. You may not have realized how dirty your tires really were until you start using essential oils to wash them. Mix the following ingredients together in a container as large as you need.
1 part baking soda
1 part water
3 drops of your favorite essential oil (some of our favorites are lavender, lime or lemon)
All you need to do is blend the ingredients well and start scrubbing.Voila!
Interior Cleaner
The dashboard of your car and other non-cloth (usually vinyl) areas need to be cleaned as well. You may have accidentally spilled your coffee on the dash at some point, or maybe dust has really started to pile up. Either way, this one-ingredient recipe will take care of it.
2 drops of your favourite essential oil (grab any scent you love, like lemon or orange)
Just put the essential oil an a rag and wipe down dirty surfaces. Make sure to wipe off any excess oil until the surface is completely dry.
TIP: Make sure you label the bottles if you are making everything together ahead of time so you don’t get confused about which mixture is for what part of the car.
Which essential oils work best for car cleaning?
For two of these cleaning recipes, like many others that use essential oils, you can pick your favourite essential oil to clean with. Obviously, if you like one smell more than another, you can use it throughout!
There are more reasons to use specific oils, though. For example, if you have a lot of stress in your life, oils like lavender, lemon or orange are great to calm you. If you are looking for a quick pick-me-up, two oils that work well are lemon and peppermint.
Finally, to assist with a better immune system, oils like tea tree, oregano and cinnamon will work wonders. Along with thieves, one of our absolute favs. It is incredibly important to be mindful of the ingredients in our cleaning products and what we use around our families.

What people are saying about our products...
Excellent product. My dog had an "accident" on our beige carpet. I applied a liberal amount of Oxi Shine with water to make a paste, and scrubbed the stain off. It also cleansed and deodorized the carpet. I recommend this product highly!
Judith
I love this product for cleaning sinks and tubs. No worries about chemicals when cleaning and it smells fresh.
Jackie
Works great at full strength, but cleans up a greasy counter nicely at half dilution as well.
Cat
Looooove this cleaner. The smell encourages me to clean....that is no easy task! Can be used without gloves, used as a mirror/glass cleaner as well and the smell very uplifting. Won't use anything else around the house. : )
